A total of 48 competitors competed in the media race organised on Friday.

It was a double celebration for Germany in the 800m media race on Friday during a break in the sessions of the 20^th European Athletics Championships, with Christian Lenk and Alexandra Arendt  claiming impressive victories.

Lenk just edged Florian Gaudin to win in an impressive 1:57.58, with Arendt finishing in 2:27.59.

OMEGA presented the lucky winners with prizes, Lenk receiving a brown leather attaché case and Arendt being presented with a pendant.

France’s Gaudin finished in 1:57.71 while Michal Prochazka claimed third position in the men’s race with a time of 1:59.54.

Bulgaria’s Iveta Yordanova finished second in the women’s race in 2:28.08, with Manuela Merlo of Italy claiming third in 2:35.16.

A total of 48 competitors competed in the six races.
