Great Britain and Northern Ireland teams set for European Cup Combined Events

UK Athletics have unveiled two strong Great Britain and Northern Ireland teams for this weekend's European Cup Combined Events.

The women's team will compete in the Super League in Szczecin, Poland, on June 27-28, while the men's team will be in Zaragoza, Spain, appearing in the First League.

The women's team, which includes international multi-event regulars Phyllis Agbo and Grace Clements, finished in fifth place overall at the event last year. Agbo was GB&NI's top finisher in 12th, followed closely by Clements in 14th.

They are joined by Lucy Boggis and Catherine Holdsworth. All four athletes were ranked top five for the heptathlon in the UK last year.

Decathletes Ben Hazell and Kevin Sempers, who ended 2008 ranked second and third in the UK, respectively, feature in the men's line-up. Joining them are Roger Skedd and Ed Dunford.
