European Athletics mourns the passing of Emanuel Bosák | 09.01.2012
European Athletics is deeply saddened to learn of the death of former IAAF Council Member and the former Minister of Sports of the Czech Republic Emanuel Bosák. He was 87.
A keen athletics enthusiast, Bosak served the sport in a number of capacities.
From 1952 to 1970 he was a member of the European Commission of the IAAF, and served as an IAAF Council member from 1968 to 1972.
He was appointed as the President of the Czech Olympic Committee in 1967 and thereafter in 1969 as the Minister of Sports in his country.
For his invaluable contribution to the Sport Bosák was conferred with the prestigious Finish Sports Merit Cross (1964) and the IAAF Veteran Pin (1970).
European Athletics and the whole athletics family mourn the passing of a great servant to the sport and offer its sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
