  • 16 World Athletics Indoor Tour events to be streamed live on European Athletics channels

European Athletics is very pleased to announce that 16 World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver and Bronze events will be streamed live through the European Athletics channels in the build-up to the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow from 1-3 March.

All the meetings will be streamed live either through the European Athletics YouTube or Facebook channels and will be accompanied by expert English-language commentary. Some geo-blocking restrictions might apply in the home country of the meeting.

Specific details on when and where to watch each meeting, as well as which top names will be competing, will be communicated on the European Athletics website and social media channels in the days prior to each meeting.

  • 27-28 January - X-Athletics Combined Events Meeting, Aubiere (FRA) - Combined Events Silver

Who’s confirmed?

Reigning Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo will renew her long-standing rivalry with Ukraine’s Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk in the long jump at the Indoor Meeting Dortmund on 20 January. 

European indoor champion Samuele Ceccarelli from Italy opens his season in the 60m while European indoor silver medallist Emmanouil Karalis takes on Norway’s Pal Haugen Lillefosse in the pole vault. 

Home favourites Bob Bertemes (shot put) and Patrizia Van der Weken (60m) will be looking to deliver victories against strong international opposition on home soil at the CMCM Indoor Meeting in Luxembourg on 21 January. 

European decathlon silver medallist Simon Ehammer from Switzerland will target his third victory in the heptathlon at the X-Athletics meeting in Aubiere on 27-28 January. He will face a field which includes France's Makenson Gletty while the pentathlon field includes 2019 world heptathlon bronze medallist Verena Mayr from Austria.

Italy’s Diamond League champion Andy Diaz is confirmed for the triple jump at the Meeting Miramas Metropole on 2 February while Olympic 10,000m champion Selemon Barega from Ethiopia drops down in distance to contest the 1500m. 

Reigning European indoor champions Miltiadis Tentoglou, Reetta Hurske, Samuele Ceccarelli and Jason Joseph are part of a strong cast for the Meeting de Paris Indoor on 11 February. Joseph will face a typically strong domestic challenge from Wilhem Belocian and Pascal Martinot-Lagarde in the 60m hurdles. 

The Banskobystricka Latka is always one of the highlights of the indoor season and this year’s event will be highlighted by the appearance of reigning world and joint Olympic champion Mutaz Essa Barshim from Qatar.

The women’s competition features 2022 world champion Eleanor Patterson from Australia as well as a strong European contingent including 2023 Rising Star Angelina Topic, Ukraine’s Iryna Herashchenko and Great Britain’s world fourth-placer Morgan Lake

Excellent shot put line-ups are being assembled for the Hvezdy v Nehvizdich in Nehvizdy on 20 February. 

World silver medallist Leonardo Fabbri from Italy faces Czech record-holder and home favourite Tomas Stanek and Nigeria’s Chuk Enekwechi in the men’s event and reigning European champion Jessica Schilder from the Netherlands takes on Sweden’s Fanny Roos in the women’s shot put.

European U20 champion Melwyn Lycke Holm from Sweden has also been announced for the high jump. 

Reigning European indoor and outdoor champion Wilma Murto from Finland will vault at the Perche Elite Tour in Rouen on 24 February.
