European Athletics has awarded the 2015 European Athletics Team Championships 3rd League to Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of the inaugural European Games. 

The competition held from 21-22 June will take place at the brand new National Stadium which will offer both athletes and spectators world-class sporting facilities.

The European Athletics Team Championships Super, First and Second Leagues will be held simultaneously on 20-21 June 2014, a day prior to the Third League.

Hosts Azerbaijan will face Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, FYR Macedonia, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro and the Slovak Republic during the two-day event, where the top four finishing teams will earn a promotion to the following year's Second League. At the end of the competition the three leading teams will also be awarded European Games medals.

The European Athletics Team Championships has grown in popularity since it began in 2009, introducing a number of ground breaking initiatives including a revamp of traditional track and field regulations, and men and women competing as one team.
