Double world indoor champion Lolo Jones is the quickest in the field with a personal best of 12.63 and the USA star will be hard to catch.
But when the names are announced before the start of the race at this European Athletics Outdoor Premium meeting, the loudest noise is likely to be for Veronica Borsi.
In March Borsi, who is 26 on Thursday, delivered her major breakthrough performance when she made the podium at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Göteborg with bronze in the 60m hurdles.
It was just the start of what is becoming a superb period for the Italian who, a week ago in Orvieto, broke the national 100m hurdles record with 12.76.
Her time is the second best in Europe this year, just 0.2 behind Great Britain's Tiffany Porter who is also in what should be a thrilling race that features two more top Italians in Marzia Caravelli, who has a best of 12.85, and Micol Cattaneo whose quickest is 2.98.
It will also be a landmark evening for long jumper Dariya Derkach as she competes for the first time as an Italian athlete.
Derkach, 20, was born in Vinnytsia in the Ukraine but she has lived in Pagani in Italy for 11 years.
Her Italian citizenship came through at the end of last month and the 2011 European Champions Clubs Cup junior champion, who has a best of 6.55m, will have a tough baptism in her new colours against Russia's Darya Klishina, the gold medallist from Göteborg.
Italy's Giordano Benedetti produced a fine run to finish fourth in the 800m at the IAAF Diamond League in Rome on Thursday night and he is back for more.
His time of 1:44.67 puts him second on the European Athletics rankings led by Frenchman Pierre-Ambroise Bosse, who was second in that race in 1:43.91.
The women's 100m has one of Europe's leading sprinters in Ukrainian Olesya Povh.
She won silver in the 100m at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki last summer in 11.32 as and then ran the first leg of the 4 x 100m relay at the London Olympics as Ukraine won bronze in a national record of 42.04 as the USA broke the world record with 40.82 ahead of Jamaica in 41.41.
This year she has ran 11.14 and sits third on the European Athletics rankings behind fellow Ukrainian Mariya Ryemyen (11.06) and Bulgaria's European champion Ivet Lalova (11.13).
Italy's Yadisleidi Pedroso, who has run 54.54 this season, will be a justified favourite in the 400m hurdles and faces Dalila Muhammad, of the USA.
At the same time as Torino, the Netherlands is staging its biggest meeting of the summer on Saturday, and it will be another opportunity for Rhys Williams to build on his impressive start to the summer.
Williams had a season of incredible mixed fortunes in 2012.
Last June the British athlete won the 400m hurdles title in style at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki and reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in London.
But then he lost his national lottery funding because he was not seen as a medal prospect for the Olympics in Rio in 2016.
But he is responding to that disappointment in style.
Williams sits second on the European rankings with a time of 48.90 from Loughborough three weeks ago and had been at the top of the lists until Thursday night in Rome when his teammate, and world champion, Dai Greene ran 48.81 as he finished fifth in the IAAF Diamond League.
Now Williams has the chance to make another statement by running even faster.
