Home

European 5000m champion Meraf Bahta will be the top name featured in the Swedish team at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Samokov.

She will run in the senior women’s race alongside steeplechase silver medallist from Zurich, Charlotta Fougberg. She tops the European 3000m steeplechase lists with 9:23.96 also a national record.

They will both be faced with experienced cross country runners and previous gold medals winners in Ireland's Fionnuala Britton and Sophie Duarte of France, who have both been named to their respective teams.

After a four week training camp in Flagstaff, Norway’s Henrik Ingebrigtsen says that he is in the shape of his life, reports bt.no. The Norwegian 1500m record holder is aiming for another national record on Sunday. During half time of the handball match between Sandnes HK and Sandefjord he will attempt to break the indoor 1000m record of 2:22.41, set in Stockholm in 2000 by Kjetil Hodnekvam. His brother Filip will also be competing in the race.
