Treble European champion Femke Bol, the 2022 European Athlete of the Year, will chase yet more honours as she spearheads a full-strength Dutch team at the European Athletics Team Championships in Silesia from 20-25 June.

All three divisions will be part of the 2023 European Games in Krakow-Malopolska with the top flight occupying the evening sessions in the Slaski Stadium between 23-25 June.

Bol will be contesting the 400m flat in Silesia on the same track where she broke the 50 second-barrier for the first time in her career last summer with 49.75.

Bol is the reigning European indoor and outdoor 400m champion and she also holds the 400m championship record at the European Athletics Team Championships. Bol helped the Netherlands to promotion into the 1st Division in 2021 with victory in 50.37.

The Dutch team also features reigning European shot put champion Jessica Schilder and fellow European champion Lieke Klaver, who was also part of the victorious 4x400m team at the European Athletics Championships, in the 200m.

Two-time European indoor 60m hurdles champion Nadine Visser contests the 100m hurdles while Bol’s training partner Cathelijn Peeters, who has improved from 56.03 to 54.65, has been named in the 400m hurdles.

Double European U18 champion Niels Laros, 18, also makes his senior debut for the Netherlands in the 1500m.
