Olympic 400m hurdles bronze medallist Femke Bol from the Netherlands will open her indoor season at the Meeting Metz Metropole on 12 February, a World Athletics Indoor Tour silver meeting.

Bol won the 400m in Metz last year in a meeting record of 50.81 as part of an unbeaten indoor campaign which concluded with two gold medals at the Torun 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Bol ducked under the 51 second-barrier in her five finals and ultimately whittled her national record down to 50.63 in the European indoor final in Torun.

Bol is planning to return to Torun some 10 days later for the Copernicus Cup on 22 February before she competes at the Dutch Indoor Championships on 26 February ahead of the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade on 18-20 March.

The men’s 400m could serve as the de facto Dutch Indoor Championships. All five athletes who ran in the heats and final of their silver medal-winning team at the Tokyo Olympics - Ramsey Angela, Terrence Agard, Liemarvin Bonevacia, Jochem Dobber and Tony Van Diepen - are all due to compete.

Olympic and European long jump champion Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece is also confirmed while European outdoor champion Pascal Martinot-Lagarde goes head-to-head with French teammate Wilhem Belocian in the 60m hurdles.
