Belgium's Louise Carton and Great Britain's Jonathan Davies have been voted European Athletes of the Month for December.
Voting for European Athlete of the Month took place through our European Athletics Twitter and Facebook pages over the past week. Athletes with the most combined Twitter 'retweets' and Facebook 'likes' were crowned the winners.
With over 1,700 combined likes and retweets, Carton was the winner on the women's side. She won gold in the under-23 women's race at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in a thrilling finish over the Netherlands' Jip Vastenburg.
Davies took the men's award with over 1,100 Facebook likes and retweets on Twitter. He also won gold in the under-23 category at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships triumphing by three seconds from Spain Carlos Mayo, winner of last month's award.
