The 2019 ECCC Track and Field Group A will take place in Castelló, Spain on 25-26 May.
At the 2018 ECCC Track and Field Group A in Birmingham, Istanbul-based club Enka retained their team title in the men’s division ahead of Sport Lisboa e Benfica with Playas de Castellon third.
On the women’s side, the outcome was narrowly reversed with Sporting Clube de Portugal winning by a meagre two points ahead of Enka and Valencia Esports.
Standout performers at the 2018 ECCC Track and Field Group included Bulgaria’s Ivet Lalova-Collio who took a sprint double for Enka, winning the 100m in 11.32 and the 200m in 23.05, while world and European champion Andrius Gudzius from Lithuania set a championship record of 67.82m to win the discus for Cosma.
The 2019 ECCC Track and Field Group B will take place in Tampere, Finland again on 25 May.
