The pentathlon line-up is headed by 2015 European indoor champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson who won silver behind Nafissatou Thiam in the heptathlon at the Berlin 2018 European Athletics Championships last summer.
Johnson-Thompson also holds the championship record in the pentathlon, moving to second on the world all-time list with 5000 points in the Czech capital four years ago.
The pentathlon line-up features five more athletes who finished inside the top-10 in the heptathlon in Berlin last summer: Austria’s Ivona Dadic (fourth), the Netherlands’ Anouk Vetter (fifth), Hungary’s Xenia Krizsan (seventh), Austria’s Verena Preiner (eighth) and Belgium’s Hanne Maudens (tenth).

European U20 heptathlon champion Alina Shukh from Ukraine will also compete in Glasgow along with European U20 100m hurdles champion Solene Ndama who set a world-leading score of 4672 points at the French Indoor Championships in Miramas on Sunday.
Double European U18 champion Maria Vicente, 17, has also qualified after breaking the Spanish senior record with 4412 points at the Spanish Indoor Championships in Antequera on Saturday.
The men’s heptathlon line-up features six of the top-10 finishers from the European Championships decathlon in Berlin including silver and bronze medallists Ilya Shkurenyov and Vitaliy Zhuk.
Great Britain’s Tim Duckworth (fifth), Norway’s Martin Roe (sixth), Czech Republic’s Jan Dolezal (eighth) and Sweden's Fredrik Samuelsson (ninth) are also part of the entry-list in the heptathlon along with world leader and 2016 European decathlon champion Thomas van der Plaetsen from Belgium and reigning European indoor silver medallist Jorge Urena from Spain.
