World record-holder Armand Duplantis and his predecessor  Renaud Lavillenie have been announced for the All-Star Perche meeting, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting, in Lavillenie's home town of Clermont-Ferrand on Saturday 25 February.

The news comes hard on the heels of Duplantis, the 2022 European Athlete of the Year, confirming he will compete in another World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting in Berlin on 10 February. (The full 2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour calendar can be found here.)

The All-Star Perche meeting was created by Lavillenie in 2016 as a showcase for his event while he was still the pole vault world record holder and he has continued in his role as the meeting organiser.

Since 2018, the All-Star Perche has become cannot-miss stop on the indoor circuit for many of world’s top vaulters and Duplantis has fond memories of the meeting.

In 2018, while still just 18, he gave a hint of his stunning breakthrough to come later that summer when he finished fifth in a Swedish national record and world U20 indoor record of 5.88m.

Duplantis, now the reigning world, European and Olympic champion, returned to Clermont-Ferrand in 2020 and cleared what was then a meeting record of 6.01m – after an enthralling duel with the Frenchman who finished second with 5.94m – although Lavillenie subsequently improved that mark to 6.06m in 2021 and that will be the target for Duplantis at this coming edition in two months' time.
