Armand Duplantis, Malaika Mihambo and Gina Luckenkemper are the first big names to be confirmed for the ISTAF Indoor events in Dusseldorf and Berlin in 2023, both of which are World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meetings.

German stars Mihambo and Luckenkemper will compete in front of their home fans both Dusseldorf on 29 January and in Berlin on 10 February, Duplantis will only compete in the latter meeting, the city where he sprung to prominence as an 18-year-old with gold at the 2018 European Athletics Championships.

"I really like coming to Berlin. The ISTAF Indoor is a great meeting. After my debut in 2022, it was already clear to me that I really wanted to be there again. Let's see if, together with the fans, I can increase the meeting record a little!" said Duplantis, who cleared 6.03m at this year's meeting before attempting what was then a world record height of 6.19m.

Mihambo will launch her indoor season in the long jump in Dusseldorf before she heads to Berlin. Like Duplantis, Mihambo also struck gold at the 2018 European Athletics Championships and she also set her indoor lifetime best of 7.07m in this meeting in 2020.

"The ISTAF Indoor cannot be compared to any other meeting, the atmosphere is unique. It's always a real highlight for us athletes," said Mihambo.

Luckenkemper, who won both the 100m and 4x100m titles at the Munich 2022 European Athletics Championships, will compete in the 60m in both the Dusseldorf and Berlin meetings.
