The final entries for the European Mountain Running Championships in Skopje on Sunday 1 July have been confirmed and can be viewed on this page under RELATED DOCUMENTS.

The field for the senior women’s race is headed by reigning champion Maude Mathys, from Switzerland, the only returning medallist from Kamnik last year when she won on the uphill course from Great Britain’s Sarah Tunstall and Austria’s Andrea Mayr.

The Italians will again be strong contenders for both individual and team medals and their team of six for the senior women’s race includes former world champion Alice Gaggi, who also won an individual silver medal two years ago when the championships was last staged on an uphill and downhill course.

Even without last year’s senior winner Xavier Chevrier, Italy - who topped the medal table in Kamnik with four medals - will still have high hopes in the men’s race as their team is headed by the Dematteis twins Bernard and Martin, who are both former winners and world championship medallists.

Norway’s Johan Bugge, who won the senior men’s title in 2015, also competes.

Romania’s Gabriel Bularda will defend his U20 men’s title while last year’s U20 women’s runner-up Bahar Alatay has been named on Türkiye’s senior women’s team.

Full event previews and live streaming details will be published later in the week.
