Poland has named a team of 32 athletes for the Glasgow 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships from 1-3 March including four individual gold medallists from Belgrade two years ago.

Poland topped the medal table in the Serbian capital in 2017 with seven gold medals and their team features reigning champions Marcin Lewandowski (1500m), Sylwester Bednarek (high jump), Piotr Lisek (pole vault) and Konrad Bukowiecki (shot put). The Poles will also be looking to defend their titles in both 4x400m relays.

Lewandowski has been entered for both the 800m and 1500m but he will only contest one event in Glasgow. Not only is Lewandowski the reigning 1500m champion, he is also a former European indoor and outdoor champion over 800m.

Poland’s 32-strong team also features European outdoor champions Justyna Swiety-Ersetic in the 400m and 4x400m relay and Michal Haratyk who beat Bukowiecki for the European outdoor title last year. The Poles will also be strong in the pole vault with Lisek joined by former world champion Pawel Wojciechowski and former European champion Robert Sobera.

Other notable inclusions in their team are reigning silver medallist and joint world leader Ewa Swoboda in the 60m and European outdoor silver medallist Sofia Ennaoui in the 1500m.
