The Golden Tracks award ceremony will be streamed live through the European Athletics YouTube channel from 8.30pm CET on Saturday (16). 

The award ceremony takes place at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland where the men’s and women’s European Athletes of the Year and Rising Stars winners will be announced and presented with their trophies.

From an initial long-list of 12 athletes, three finalists are in contention for both the men’s and women’s European Athlete of the Year award including 2019 winners Karsten Warholm from Norway and authorised neutral athlete Mariya Lasitskene. A summary of the finalists can be found here.

Three finalists are also in the running to be this year’s men’s and women’s Rising Star, an award which was introduced in 2007 to recognise outstanding young and emerging European athletes. A summary of the finalists can be found here.

Past winners of the Rising Star award have included Jessica Ennis-Hill (2007), Sandra Perkovic (2010), Nafissatou Thiam (2016), Armand Duplantis (2018), Jakob Ingebrigtsen (2018) as well as Warholm (2017) and Lasitskene (2014), the 2019 European Athletes of the Year.
