Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Sander Skotheim headline Norway’s team for the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships from 6-9 March.

Ingebrigtsen will be aiming for his third successive 1500/3000m double which would take his overall tally of European indoor titles up to seven having also won 3000m gold in Glasgow 2019 at the age of 18.

Ingebrigtsen is part of a strong Norwegian triumvirate in the 3000m which also feature world 1500m bronze medallist Narve Gilje Nordas as well as Jakob’s older brother Filip, the 2016 European 1500m champion and 2018 European cross country champion.

Skotheim won silver in the heptathlon two years ago behind Kevin Mayer and he surpassed the Frenchman’s European record earlier this month in Tallinn, setting a new total of 6484 points to move to fifth on the world all-time list.

The Norwegian team also features reigning European indoor pole vault champion Sondre Guttormsen along with Olympic finalist Henriette Jaeger and Havard Bentdal Ingvaldsen in the women’s and men’s 400m respectively.

Thanks to a double from Ingebrigtsen along with gold medals from Guttormsen and Karsten Warholm, Norway topped the medal table for the first time at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul with four gold medals.
