The official mascot for the European Athletics U18 Championships in Jerusalem, Israel from 4-7 July has been unveiled.
‘Champi’ the mascot is a hybrid between a gazelle and a mountain goat, both of which are commonly found in the host country.
The gazelle is more commonly located in the northern, greener parts of the country whereas the mountain goat is more often found in the drier, arid parts of the south,
‘Champi’ borrows from the gazelle its speed and from the mountain goat, ‘Champi’ takes its powerful legs.
