Hungary’s Bence Halasz and Slovenia’s Marusa Mismas have been voted Athletes of the Month for July 2020.
The voting was put to the fans across European Athletics’ Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and after five days of voting, the numbers were added together and verified. Halasz prevailed on the men’s side ahead of Sweden’s Armand Duplantis while Mismas fended off rising Dutch star Femke Bol on the women’s side.
Halasz enjoyed a consistent July campaign, winning his three competitions in the hammer with winning throws in excess of the 78 metre-line while Mismas produced an excellent solo effort in Ljubljana, moving to second on the world all-time list in the 2000m steeplechase with a 5:56.28 clocking.
