Have your say on who should be crowned women's Rising Star in 2024, an award which recognises Europe's outstanding young athletes! 

Sign up to cast your vote on the dedicated European Athlete of the Year voting platform here and you will also be in with a chance of winning prizes* including tickets to a European Athletics event in 2025, posters signed by an athlete attending the Golden Tracks awards and EA merchandise!

The voting process is made up of four parts and the three finalists in all four categories, men's and women's European Athlete of the Year and men's and women's Rising Star, will be announced on 8-9 October.

  • Member Federation vote (25 percent)
  • Media vote (25 percent)
  • European Athletics expert panel vote (25 percent)

The winners will be announced and presented with their trophies at the Golden Tracks award ceremony which takes place in Skopje, North Macedonia on 26 October and will be streamed live through the European Athletics YouTube channel.

Last year's European Athletes of the Year were Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Femke Bol from the Netherlands, both of whom were also crowned European Athletes of the Year in 2022, while Serbia's Angelina Topic and Italy's Mattia Furlani were named Rising Stars.

Here are the 10 nominees for this year's women's Rising Star trophy in alphabetical order along with their principal achievements in 2024.

  • World U20 heptathlon leader with 5977 points

Lurdes Gloria Manuel (CZE) - 2005

  • European 400m fourth-placer
  • Fastest time by a European U20 since 1991 with 50.52

Plamena Mitkova (BUL) - 2004

  • European long jump seventh-placer
  • Balkan long jump champion
  • Second on 2024 European list with 6.97m 

Meta Tumba (FRA) - 2006

  • World U20 400m hurdles champion
  • Fifth on European all-time U20 list with 55.59

Elisa Valensin (ITA) - 2007

  • European U18 200m and sprint medley relay champion
  • World U20 400m finalist
  • Sixth on European all-time U18 200m list with 23.09

Adriana Vilagos (SRB) - 2004

  • European javelin silver medallist
