There is one month to go until the European Athletics Convention on 24-26 October and European Athletics CEO Christian Milz is looking forward to welcoming Member Federations and also celebrating another brilliant year for the sport at the Golden Tracks awards ceremony.
“We are excited over the prospect of bringing the European Athletics Convention and Golden Tracks award ceremony to the Republic of North Macedonia for the first time ever and after successful delivery of the European Athletics Congress in 2013, we are sure our hosts will provide an ideal setting in Skopje,” he said.
“The Convention provides the perfect time and occasion for the whole family of Member Federations to take stock of where our sport is today, what we can do to grow and develop our athletics and where we want to be in the future.
So much to celebrate
“With the Golden Tracks awards ceremony and the depth and quality of record-breaking athletes as standard bearers for the sport in Europe, we have so much to celebrate. We must draw inspiration from them to ensure - like they do –our sport reaches its full potential.
“The European Athletics Strategic Roadmap 2024-27 prioritises competition, digitalisation & innovation and community as our three priorities and those themes run right through the programme in Skopje to help ensure we are collectively moving forward for the good of our sport.
“We look forward to meeting up with all of our friends and colleagues across the whole continent for what I am sure will be and rewarding and enjoyable few days in Skopje.”
