Following a highly successful 2024 European Athletics Convention and Golden Tracks in Skopje, the Republic of North Macedonia (24-26 October), hosts of next year's event are promising an “unforgettable event" in 12 months’ time.
Batumi, Georgia will play host to next year’s prestigious event on 21-25 October 2025 and will also include the biennial European Athletics Congress, where Member Federations can look forward to another invaluable and productive gathering.
"Interactive and interesting"
Speaking at the climax of a stimulating Convention in Skopje, Gvantsa Mikeladze, General Secretary of the Athletic Federation of Georgia and European Athletics Council member said: “It is one of the most useful corporate events for all the European athletics family.
“There are different and important topics for the development of athletics, and we have some good cooperation with each other. It is one of the biggest events for us.
“We are looking forward to hosting one of the biggest corporate events. The Congress, the Convention, the Golden Tracks will be in Georgia, so I hope that our guests will enjoy the city, our hospitality and we will have one of the most interactive and interesting Congress and Convention and an unforgettable Golden Tracks evening in Batumi.
“In 2014 we had the European Athletics Team Championships third division, in 2015 we had the European Youth Olympic Festival, and we were involved with the LOC (Local Organising Committee) as well.
“Also in 2016, we hosted the first edition of the European Athletics U18 Championships, and we have also hosted the Balkan Congress and Balkan Gala too, so we have good experience.”
European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov said: "The European Athletics Convention and Golden Tracks goes from strength to strength every year with over 300 members of the European athletics family and 48 Member Federations present in Skopje for an inspirational few days among friends and colleagues.
"We are confident that we are in good hands as we look towards 2025 with the Athletic Federation of Georgia, who have a proven reputation for delivering international competitions and conferences. We are excited at the prospect of Batumi 2025, in addition, we will also gather for Congress again and are sure of it continuing the trend of high quality events."
