Reigning European triple jump champion Ana Peleteiro-Compaore from Spain has been announced for the Meeting Miramas Metropole, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting, on 31 January.
The Meeting Miramas Metropole will be streamed live through the European Athletics website channel. More information about the streaming schedule for World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver and Bronze events in Europe will be communicated in early January.
Peleteiro-Compaore bounded out to 14.84m - the second longest jump of her career - to win the European title in Rome last June to go alongside her European indoor title from Glasgow in 2019.
The Spaniard will face fellow European medallist Ilionis Guillaume who set a lifetime best of 14.43m to win bronze behind Peleteiro-Compaore in the Italian capital last summer.
Strong 60m hurdles line-up assembled
Another standout event of the meeting is the 60m hurdles which features reigning European indoor champion Jason Joseph from Switzerland against home favourite Sasha Zhoya, who made big strides outdoors in the 110m hurdles last summer with a victory in the Diamond League final in Brussels.
Joseph won gold at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul in 7.41 to move to equal second on the European indoor all-time list before adding a bronze medal in the 110m hurdles from the 2024 European Athletics Championships to his medal collection.
Former European indoor champion Wilhem Belocian is also due to race in Miramas. Belocian, who won European indoor gold in 2021, won the sprint hurdles at last year’s meeting in 7.51.
Former European 100m record-holder Jimmy Vicaut and fellow Frenchman Jeff Erius - who broke the 10 second-barrier for the 100m for the first time last summer with 9.98 - are both confirmed for the 60m.
