Sweden’s world indoor 60m hurdles record holder Susanna Kallur is keeping her options open about competing indoors, and at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris next March, despite surgery on her leg three months ago.

The 2006 European Athletics Championships 110m gold medallist was unable to defend her crown in Barcelona this summer despite having recovered from previous surgery on a stress fracture on her shin and running an impressive 12.78 at the Samsung Diamond League in New York back in June.

However, an infection in the wound and more surgery in July ruled her out of this summer’s European Athletics Championships.

Kallur, 29, has recently returned to gentle training after missing three months of work. “The wound has healed right but the stitches only came out last Tuesday, so this has been going back and forth a lot. I have not done much on it yet but the infection's gone, so it should be good or look better anyway,” she commented.

“I have to leave it open,” she said, about this winter’s indoors season.

“But I like to run and I’m pretty up for it,” added the two-time European indoor champion, having won the 60m hurdles in 2005 and 2007.
