Tickets for the European Championships Munich 2022 have gone on sale today (26) and can be purchased here.

The second edition of the multi-sport European Championships takes place entirely in Munich between 11-21 August. The full programme is made up of nine sports with the athletics programme to be held primarily in the Olympic Stadium between 15-21 August, the same venue for the 2002 European Athletics Championships.

The organisers are expecting one million visitors across all venues over the eleven days of competition and associated side events. Ticket prices begin at 10 Euros with several fan-friendly packages such as day tickets and championship tickets available to buy for individual sports. There will also be combined tickets on offer for some events, including the decathlon.

A number of events, such as the marathon and race walking events, BMX freestyle, mountain bike cross-country, road cycling and triathlon will be accessible free of charge along with selected beach volleyball and sport climbing sessions.

Speaking on the launch of ticket sales, Munich's Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter said: ”The 50th anniversary of the Summer Olympic Games in Munich is just around the corner. What better way to celebrate the anniversary than with a sporting event like the European Championships. With the start of advance ticket sales, Munich 2022 is now a decisive step closer.

“Every sports enthusiast can secure tickets and look forward to exciting competitions at various sports venues in the city. The many free offers round off the programme of the European Championships Munich 2022 perfectly and underline the inclusive and sustainable character of the event. The anticipation in our city is rising!”

Organiser and Managing Director of Olympiapark München GmbH Marion Schöne said: “The European Championships Munich 2022 shall not only be a first-class international multi-sport event. We want to set new standards, especially when it comes to inclusion and sustainability. The offer of freely accessible competitions is one of them.

“At the same time, I am convinced that ticketing, with its many different offers, enables a wide range of visitors to experience the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary sporting event.”

The European Championships Munich 2022 will be the biggest sporting event to be held in the Bavarian capital since the 1972 Olympic Games and the organisers are expecting approximately 4700 athletes to compete across all sports.
