Poland has named a 68-strong team for the forthcoming European Athletics U18 Championships in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia on 18-21 July.
The Poles will be optimistic of continuing the nation’s stellar reputation for women’s 400m running through Anastazja Kuś, who heads the European U18 list this year with 52.26. Kus is daughter of former Poland men's football international Marcin Kus.
They also include men’s javelin prospect Roch Krukowski, who also heads the European U18 list with 80.60m, he is the younger brother of Marcin Krukowski, the Polish national record-holder.
Poland has won 17 medals - including four gold - across the three editions of these championships in Tbilisi 2016, Győr 2018 and Jerusalem 2022 and they will be confident of adding to that tally in Banska Bystrica. One of their highlights two year's ago was victory by Marek Zakrzewski in the men's 100m in a championship record of 10.32.
