After a four month break, European Athletics has relaunched its popular Athlete of the Month contest across its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, giving the public their say on who were the outstanding European athletes of the previous month.
Four male and four female athletes have been selected based purely on their performances achieved in the previous month. No athlete who has served a doping ban of two years or longer can be nominated for the award.
The European Athlete of the Month initiative was launched in January 2007 and is designed to recognise outstanding performances set by European athletes.
Voting closes at 12:00pm CET on Monday 10 August and the winners will be announced shortly afterwards based on the combined results across voting on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can cast your vote by liking or sharing the photo of your favourite athlete on Facebook, by voting in the poll on Twitter or by replying with the name of the athlete in the comments section on Instagram.
