  • Voting is open for European Athlete of the Month: October 2017

The European Athlete of the Month voting for October is underway across our European Athletics Twitter and Facebook pages.

The voting closes at 12:00 CET on Tuesday 7 November. You can cast your vote on Twitter by retweeting the graphic of the athlete for whom you wish to vote for or by liking or sharing the corresponding graphic on Facebook. You can also vote for more than one athlete.

The votes across Twitter and Facebook are combined in order to determine who will be named male and female European Athlete of the Month.

Five male and five female athletes are nominated purely based on their performances in the previous month. However, no athlete who has served a two-year doping ban can be nominated for the award.

The European Athlete of the Month initiative was launched in January 2007 and is designed to recognise outstanding performances set by European athletes.

Voting was not held in September due to the Golden Tracks. In August, world 200m champion Ramil Guliyev from Türkiye was voted male European Athlete of the Year with world pole vault champion Ekaterini Stefanidi from Greece voted female European Athlete of the Year.
