Data protection information on the EA-ID
As part of several of our services, you have the option or you are requested to create a personal user profile ("EA-ID"). This is necessary in order to use some of our services. By logging in with your user profile, you will receive access to certain e-learning or certification services ("Protected Services"), for example, or to further information about our sport ("Premium Content"), insofar as you are authorised to do so.
Here you can find out how the data is processed within the context of the EA-ID. For further information on other data processing within the scope of the service for which the EA-ID is used, please consult the data protection information of the service itself.
Microsoft Azure Active Directory B2C and associated cookies.
We use Microsoft Azure Active Directory B2C ("AzureAD B2C") to provide efficient, reliable and secure management of the EA-ID.
When you use EA-ID, Azure AD B2C sets cookies that are necessary for the service to function. All Azure B2C cookies are so-called session cookies and are deleted when you close your browser session. For a detailed description of the service or the cookies set, please visit this page: Azure AD B2C | Microsoft Docs
Type of data processed
When you use the EA-ID, the following of your data will be requested and processed: Your name, e-mail address, birthday, gender and place of residence. In addition, the system automatically generates and processes various technical data. It records and stores when you generated the ID, when you log in and when you log out. In addition, Azure B2C session cookies process some data that is required to authenticate your access.
Legal basis for data processing
Where your EA-ID is used to access Protected Services, the processing of the data is based on our legitimate interest in making those services available only to authorised and identified persons or for the performance of the contract concluded with you or your parent organisation (such as one of our member federations) for the use of those services (Art. 6, para. 1, lit. b and f EU-GDPR).
If your EA ID is used to access Premium Content, the processing is based on your consent (Art. 6, para.1, lit. a EU-GDPR), which you can revoke at any time, for example by closing your EA-ID. Please note that once you have closed your EA-ID, you will no longer be able to access the content protected by it.
We store your data until you close your EA-ID or, if the processing is based on your consent, you revoke your consent. If the data of your EA-ID is used for the use of Protected Services such as our certification services, we store the data as long as the regulations of these services require it.
Data access and transfer to third countries
In addition to EA, Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18 D18 P521, Ireland also has access to EA-ID data as our service provider for Azure B2C. As such, the service provider is bound by a data processing agreement to protect the data (Art. 28 EU-GDPR).
To the extent that the EU branch of Microsoft transfers personal data outside the EU, Switzerland or the EEA, this transfer is secured by the conclusion of EA standard contractual clauses.
