Sporting Clube de Portugal were the big winners on home soil at the European Champion Clubs Cup Cross Country in Mira, Portugal on Sunday (4).
Wearing the distinctive green and white hooped vests, Sporting Clube de Portugal claimed three titles across the four senior races.
With five runners placing inside the top-10 led by Jessica Augusto in second, Sporting Clube captured the senior women’s team title while Kenya’s Davis Kiplangat claimed individual and team honours for the Portuguese-based club in the senior men’s race.
In the U20 races, Denmark’s Anna Mark Helwigh defended her individual title although her club Sparta AM were just pipped to the team title by Fenerbahce Sport Club - 36 points to 37 points.
Spain’s Aaron Las Heras won the U20 men’s race from teammate Mario Garcia, leading Playas de Castellon to a successful defence of the team title.
