With just 122 days remaining until the beginning of the Prague 2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships, 70 percent of all tickets have already been sold, the Saturday and Sunday sessions are sold out, and today the local organising committee began its “Fan is a part of a team” campaign with top Czech athletes past and present alongside actors On…™ej Vetchý and Pavel Liška.
Czech athletics legend Helena Fibingerová said, “It turns out that there is a big interest in athletics in Czech Republic and I am truly happy to hear that 70 percent of all tickets are already sold out. Prague is going to see top athletics after a long 37 years and it is clear to see that the interest of fans in watching top European and Czech representatives fight for medals on home ground is huge.”
Fans who want to take in the action at the O2 arena in March next year can still choose from tickets to morning/afternoon session on Friday or the morning session on Saturday. Medals will be up for grabs in the final three disciplines on Friday. Tickets are available at www.ticketportal.cz.
The fan is part of a team
The motto of the autumn campaign of the European Athletics Indoor Championships is “The fan is a part of a team”.
Libor Varhaník, chairman of Local Organising Committee, said, “The aim of the campaign is not only to sell tickets so the O2 arena will be sold out, we would also like to show that the fans are the integral part of European Athletics Indoor Championships and that all athletes need and appreciate them: the fans at the O2 arena and also the fans in front of the television screens are going to be a part of successful European Athletics Indoor Championships and a part of a team ...”
The main part of the campaign are a series of video spots directed by Jan Prušinovský (who directed the movie Okresní p…™ebor). In these, Vetchý and Liška appear with current and former Czech athletes Jan …½elezný, Tomáš Dvo…™ák, Zuzana Hejnová, Ladislav Prášil, Pavel Maslák and Adam Sebastian Helcelet. The series begins with one called “Date” with Zuzana Hejnová and Pavel Liška.
Prague 2015 Executive Director,Tomáš Jank…¯ said, “We truly appreciate the support of the director and actors. We are also happy that the best Czech athletes have joined the shooting, too. The European Athletics Indoor Championships has great support and I am truly happy about that.”
