European Athletics is pleased to confirm the final entries and starting order for the European Champion Clubs Cup Cross Country in Albufeira, Portugal, on Sunday 2 February.
This year a total of 343 runners from 48 participating clubs representing 23 Member Federations will be competing in Albufeira.
Another tight senior men’s race is to be expected with reigning champions Atletismo Bikilia of Spain and Italy’s G.S. Fiamme Gialle as the two favourites.
Last year in Castellon, Spain, Andrea Lalli’s win in the individual event was still not enough for Fiamme Gialle as Bikilia took the title.
Lalli will try to repeat his performance, but will face tough competition from Spain's 2013 European cross country champion Alemayuh Bezabeh.
As always on the women’s side Sport Club Luch Moscow will be hard to beat, having won the women senior and junior team events in Castellon.
Lyudmila Lebedeva and Natalya Gorchakova will lead the way for the Russians as they were an integral part of last year’s winning team.
