The top three athletes from both the men's and women's category will earn direct qualification to the 2010 European Athletics Championships to be held in Barcelona, Spain.
Spain's José Manuel Martínez, 2002 European Athletics 10000m gold medallist and 2006 silver medallist, will compete alongside top names such as Driss El Himer of France and Rui Pedro Silva of Portugal in the 37-strong men's field.
In the women's race, 39-year-old Fernanda Ribeiro of Portugal, the 1995 World Championships and 1996 Atlanta Olympics gold medallist in 10000m, will be racing against the likes of compatriot Ana Dias and Christelle Dauney of France.
