The final entries for the European Athletics Team Championships Super League in Silesia on 29-30 May have been published and can be found here.
Hosts Poland are the reigning champions after triumphing two years ago in Bydgoszcz and four of their nine individual winners from that team are due to compete in the Silesian Stadium: Marcin Lewandowski (1500m), Patryk Dobek (400m hurdles), Piotr Lisek (pole vault) and Michal Haratyk (shot put).
Justyna Swiety-Ersetic will not be contesting the individual 400m in Silesia but the reigning European champion will make her outdoor season’s debut in the 4x400m. Double European U23 champion Natalia Kaczmarek will take her place in the individual 400m.
Four-time world champion Pawel Fajdek has been selected for the men’s hammer over European champion Wojciech Nowicki and recent European Throwing Cup winner Malwina Kopron is also tipped for maximum points in the women’s hammer.
One of the star names in action next weekend will be Germany’s Johannes Vetter who has surpassed the 90 metre-barrier in his last three competitions - including in Ostrava on Wednesday evening with 94.20m - and reached an astonishing national record of 97.76m in this very same arena last September.
A total of seven recently crowned European indoor champions will be in action in Silesia: Italy’s Marcell Jacobs (100m, 4x100m), Spain’s Oscar Husillos (4x400m), Poland’s Patryk Dobek (400m hurdles), Ukraine’s Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk (long jump) and the Portuguese trio of Patricia Mamona and Pedro Pablo Pichardo (triple jump) and Auriol Dongmo (shot put).
