First 20 road races certified

Home

The first 20 road races have been registered and certified on the European Athletics Running for All platform.

The European Athletics Safety and Quality Standards for road races act as an assurance for roadrunners throughout Europe. They distinguish between races that respect the standards and those that haven’t sought certification or assessment. They form the foundation of Running for All, a strong recognisable brand for running activities throughout Europe.

We are just beginning to circulate and explain the Running for All Quality and Safety Standards to our Member Federations and race organisers and the response has been encouraging. We are continuing our discussions with the various groups of the running movement and are confident more and more road races will begin to register and be certified as a European Athletics Quality Road Race.

Races listed as '1 Star' fulfill guaranteed minimum requirements of safety and security for all participants. '3 Star' races offer a good level of safety and include a satisfactory level of services to a larger number of runners, while '5 Star' races offer a high quality experience and a comprehensive range of services.
