A full size team of 12 athletes will represent Great Britain on home soil at the European 10,000m Cup in London on 19 May.
The European 10,000m Cup is being held this year in conjunction with the popular annual Night of the 10,000m PBs at the Parliament Hill Athletics Track in Highgate, home of Highgate Harriers in north-west London.
“The European 10,000m Cup is an important marker on the 2018 calendar and we are pleased to announce a full British team for what will be a great event. By selecting a full team of 12, we are showing our intent to earn the highest possible placing in both the men’s and women’s team standings,” said British team leader Chris Jones.
The men’s team is led by Ross Millington, who is the fastest on paper with a lifetime best of 27:55.06 set in the build-up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Millington also has a silver medal over 5000m from the European Athletics U23 Championships to his name, along with team medals from the SPAR European Cross Country Championships.

The team also includes Ben Connor, Alex Yee, Luke Traynor, Mohamud Aadan and Sam Stabler. Yee, who paced last year's race, is the youngest member of the 12-strong British team at the age of 20.
The women’s team is headed by Jenny Nesbitt, who won an individual bronze medal at the 2016 European 10,000m Cup in Mersin, Türkiye. Nesbitt also led the British team to the team title for the third time since 2012.
The rest of the women’s team is made up of Charlotte Arter, Phoebe Law, Louise Small, Claire Duck and Faye Fullerton.
The European 10,000m Cup was first held in 1997 and British athletes have claimed three individual titles in event history courtesy of Paula Radcliffe (1999 and 2001) and Mo Farah (2010) as well as three women’s team titles (2012, 2015 and 2016).
