The Latvia Athletic Association (LAA) has become the third European Athletics Member Federation to take part in the Focus Federation Programme – following in the footsteps of Belarus and Lithuania – and senior officials from the federation visited the European Athletics Headquarters in Lausanne on 18-19 September.
Following an introduction to the Programme by European Athletics CEO Christian Milz and Vice President Jean Gracia, LAA President Ineta Radevica, General Secretary Dmitrijs Milkevics and Head of Communications Ieva Bļusina were given a tour of the House of European Athletics.
The working part of the first day consisted of the LAA officials being appraised of the latest developments and strategy of DNA (Dynamic New Athletics), the European Athletics Data Project as well as the European Athletics competition structure and related topics along with a briefing on European Athletics communications.
The second day saw the LAA being given presentations on development strategy, I Run Clean, European Athletics’ marketing and commercial activities, running strategy, and bidding for European Athletics competitions.
The Latvian Athletic Association will be presenting their strategy and vision for their future activities towards at the next European Athletics Council meeting, which will take place in Budapest on 2-4 November.
