Based on the iron rooster legend of Gyor and following the success of the European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor last summer, Hugoo the Rooster has been confirmed as the official mascot of the European Athletics U18 Championships Gyor 2018 from 5-8 July.
Hugoo was born in Gyor and since his birth, sport has been an important part of his life. Hugoo came to life in 2013, diligently preparing for the European Youth Olympic Festival with the habitants of Gyor. He has tried many different sports and he proved to be very gifted in all of them with athletics becoming especially dear to him.
His dedication and skills are highly appreciated by the organisers and Hugoo has become an iconic figure in the city. He has also been an essential actor in sporting life in Gyor and for this reason, Hugoo will be the official mascot figure this summer.
Hugoo is very much looking forward to the European Athletics U18 Championships as he made close friends with many young athletes who competed at the European Youth Olympic Festival last summer.
He welcomes his friends back to Gyor and he hopes he will meet many more talented athletes, young and enthusiastic fans and committed supporters.
