Representatives of 30 Member Federations took part in a virtual site visit organised by European Athletics and the Local Organising Committee ahead of the Torun 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships on Wednesday (4).
The three-and-a-half hour online presentation – which replaced the in-person site visit that is usually arranged for major competitions – provided the latest information on the competition structure and timetable, venue and training facilities, medical and anti-doping protocols, the COVID-19 sanitary plan, accommodation, transport, accreditation and ticketing as well as providing the opportunity for Member Federations to ask questions of the European Athletics Events Department and LOC.
The Torun 2021 European Athletics Championships will be held from 5-7 March and will be European Athletics first major event in more than12 months after a year which has seen the cancellation of the European Athletics Championships, SPAR European Cross Country Championships and postponement of the European Athletics U18 Championships as well as many other events.
