The men’s and women’s European Athlete of the Year and Rising Stars will be announced and presented with their trophies at the Golden Tracks in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday (26).

The glittering annual award ceremony will celebrate another memorable and action-packed year which included the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, a successful first instalment of The Match Europe v USA in Minsk as well as the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha where European athletes won eleven gold medals across the ten days.

The highlight of the evening will be the four major award categories which all serve to celebrate outstanding European athletes. Last year’s European Athletes of the Year were France’s Kevin Mayer and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith who is also in contention for the accolade in 2019.

Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Sweden’s Armand Duplantis were jointly awarded the men’s trophy last year while European 100m hurdles champion Elvira Herman from Belarus won the award on the women’s side.
