European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov will deliver the opening address at the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) Conference taking place this week in Vouliagmeni, Greece on Wednesday and Thursday (13-14).
CEOs, Directors or General Secretaries of the 49 eligible Member Federations of European Athletics will participate.in the two-day high-level gathering of senior executives.
Challenges and opportunities
President Karamarinov said: “A year where there is both a European Athletics Championship and Olympic Games is always very significant for our sport and 2024 is no different. It brings challenges, but also huge opportunities for athletics to take centre stage across Europe.
“It is also the start of the cycle for the European Athletics Strategic Roadmap 2024-2027 with key priorities around competition, digitalisation and innovation and community. The CEO conference is an important milestone, gathering leaders from across Europe to grow and develop our sport in the spirit of partnership and collaboration.”
Among the main topics to be discussed are European Athletics Roadmap, Monetizing Digital Data and Content, European Running Championships 2025 National Teams, Human Rights, Safeguarding and Growing the Athletics Community.

Ahead of the conference, European Athletics CEO Christian Milz added: "We have a great community of CEOs and leaders in athletics.
“Meeting them at the CEO Conference always is an occasion to reinforce our structure, not only it is a time for feedback from the Member Federations to European Athletics but also a time for exchanges between leaders that face similar issues.
“Bringing all of them together is our way to make sure we can all support each other and learn. Eventually, we all want that every European can choose athletics as their Sport for Life."
