The inaugural European Athletics Youth Championships in 2016 have been awarded to Tbilisi, Georgia.
The competition which takes place from 14-17 July 2016 offers athletes aged under-18 the chance to represent their countries and test themselves against the continent's best.
Tbilisi once again demonstrates its commitment to sport and athletics in particular after hosting the European Athletics Team Championships Third League in 2014 and European Youth Olympic Festival from 26 July-1 August 2015.
The European Athletics Youth Championships will be staged every two years from 2016, following a Congress decision to add the event to the European Athletics competition programme.
