Coaches play a central role in the development of athletes at all levels and it is therefore important for the sport to provide support that ensures they are well trained and qualified, up to date with the latest practices and information, and properly motivated.
The management of coaches in athletics is a responsibility of the Member Federations but European Athletics provides support through the promotion of the World Athletics Coaches Education and Certification System in Europe, our Coaching Summit Series of conferences for the exchange of good practice, and the annual European Athletics Coaching Awards to recognise excellence in this field.
