Tickets for the Tallinn 2015 European Athletics U23 Championships are now on sale internationally via Estonian distributor Piletilevi.ee.

For the first time in Estonian athletics history, tickets will be sold for assigned seats in order to accommodate the national and international demand for tickets.

Approximately 1,000 athletes are expected to attend the European Athletics U23 Championships at the Tallinn Kadriorg Stadium, including various world-class athletics stars. Athletes from this age group won a total 27 medals from the European Athletics Championships in Zurich 2014.

Among the first to purchase tickets were well-known “superfans” of Estonian athletics Ants Tennison and Koit Antsmí¤e as well as popular Estonian popstar Uku Suviste.

Passionate fans Tennison and Antsmí¤e – the founding members of the Erki Nool fan club – have travelled to most athletics outdoor championships since 1997.

“At the under-23 championships, we will be interested in multiple events and keeping our fingers crossed for Estonians Karl-Robert Saluri, Grete Å adeiko and Janek •iglane, but of course we are hoping for strong results from the entire team,” they said.

One of Estonia’s greatest popstars, Suviste, purchased two supporter tickets of his own.

“This is a first time opportunity for me. Now I have the tickets and I am definitely planning to go to Kadriorg Stadium to see the championships. After all, the athletes taking part are the future of athletics,” said Suviste.

The performer added that athletics was his passion from childhood until finishing high school and he watched championship reruns with his father on several occasions. He also practised athletics while he was serving in the military.

“I am glad that this major championship is right here in Tallinn. This enables me to rediscover athletics and once more get closely acquainted with the sport and the emotions,” said Suviste.

Tickets are available for international presale here until 8 July. The price of a presale 4-day pass is 20 euros, students and pensioners will be offered a five euro discount. VIP packages for all 4 days are available at 100 euros, which include a seat in the VIP tribune and catering during the competition.
