  • Volunteer applications for the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships now open

Applications are now open for the volunteering programme at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships, taking place from 7 to 12 June next year.

Volunteers will have the chance to experience up close the atmosphere of this major international sporting event and contribute to its success by participating in an operational role – an enriching experience for personal and professional development.

The programme, named ‘Rome 2024 Volunteers’, has its own logo, designed to encourage volunteers to promote the inclusion and integration of all individuals interested in getting closer to the world of athletics.

Rome 2024 Volunteers aims to empower the younger generations by directly involving secondary schools and universities in Rome and the Lazio region in the recruitment campaign.

Equally important will be the contribution of local athletics associations, whose members will provide specialist skills and a passion for the sport during the event.

In total, there will be over 1,000 selected volunteers who will receive exclusive benefits such as:

  • access to the sports competitions scheduled during the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships
  • attendance at specific training sessions organised by Humangest and EuroRoma 2024
  • an official uniform assigned to each volunteer
  • and participation in the closing party of the Championships.

Roma 2024 Volunteers

Paolo Carito, General Director of the EuroRoma 2024 Foundation, said: "We can finally rally young athletics enthusiasts and the entire community to participate in this exciting adventure. Rome 2024 Volunteers represents a central project in the vision that the Foundation has set for itself, to develop themes of sustainability, innovation, and well-being. The volunteers will contribute to the success of the great event and will be the first ambassadors of athletics values in the city and at all competition venues."
