Friday (15) marks 300 days to go to the start of the second edition of the multi-sport European Championships Munich 2022, with the European Athletic Championships being one of nine sports having their continental championships in the German city next summer.

The European Championships – will unite the existing senior championships of nine of the continent’s leading sports ‘under one roof’ – will take place from 11-21 August and the European Athletics Championships occupy the last seven days of the programme and will be staged between 15-21 August.
Tickets for all the sports involved in the European Championships, including the European Athletics Championships, will go on sale on Tuesday 26 October.

Munich 2022 is set to feature 4700 athletes from approximately 50 nations competing in 176 medal events, with the in-stadia athletics taking place inside the city's iconic Olympic Stadium which also staged the 1972 Olympic Games and 2002 European Athletics Championships. The marathons and race walking events will take place in the heart of the city.
The nation finishing top of the overall medal table for the participating sports will be awarded the European Championships Trophy.
