The timetable for the 8th European Athletics U23 Championships to be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, through 16 -19 July 2011 has been approved.
‘It’s been a long process but we are very happy that the timetable has been approved now by both Czech Television and the technical delegates of European Athletics,” said Oldrich Zvolanek, the director of the Local Organising Committee of the 2011 European Athletics U23 Championships.
“The timetable had to be set up in a way to ensure the athletes competing in various technical disciplines do not interrupt or collide with each other. I am glad we have been successful in achieving that goal.
“There may be a few minor modifications in future, for instance some disciplines can be shifted by a couple of minutes but it is only possible after the Technical Meeting and with the approval of all the delegates,” he added.
The last edition of the European Athletics U23 Championships was held in Kaunas, Lithuania, in 2009.
