Met deze kampioenschappen wil de Koninklijke Nederlandse Atletiekunie niet alleen een nieuwe standaard neerzetten in kwaliteit en beleving, maar ook jong en oud inspireren.</p><p>Dat hebben we al eerder bewezen met de Europese Kampioenschappen Atletiek 2016 in Amsterdam. De Europese Kampioenschappen Atletiek Indoor creëert een bewustzijn van vitaliteit en sociale binding in Europa en zal worden omarmd door alle fans. <p>Gelderland is a fantastic province when it comes to sports. For example the Giro d&rsquo;Italia started here in 2016 and the Track Cycling World Championships were also organised in Gelderland . The province has fantastic sports venues, with the National Olympic Training Center Papendal as the absolute highlight.</p>

The proximity of large cities such as Utrecht (59 kilometre) and Amsterdam (75 kilometre) and its space and tranquillity make Apeldoorn one of the most popular cities in the Netherlands. The area mainly consists of woods and heath-lands and is a popular destination for tourism, in particular hiking and cycling.</p>
