<h2>Microsoft Azure Active Directory B2C and associated cookies.</h2>
<p>We use Microsoft Azure Active Directory B2C ("<strong>AzureAD B2C</strong>") to provide efficient, reliable and secure management of the EA-ID.</p>

<h2>Analytics and Tracking by European Athletics</h2>
<p>We may use analytics and tracking tools such as Clicky,&nbsp; Google Analytics and Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) on our website including cookies. <h2>Types of data processed</h2>
<p>When you use the EA-ID, the following of your data will be requested and processed:</p>

<li>gender and</li>

<p>In addition, the system automatically generates and processes various technical data. It records and stores when you generated the ID, when you log in and when you log out. In addition, Azure B2C session cookies process some data that is required to authenticate your access.</p>
<h2>Legal basis for the data processing</h2>
<p>Where your EA-ID is used to access Protected Services, the processing of the data is based on our legitimate interest in making those services available only to authorised and identified persons (Art. 6, para. 1, lit. f EU-GDPR).&nbsp;</p>
<p>If your EA-ID is created to access Premium Content, the processing is based on your consent (Art. 6, para.1, lit. a EU-GDPR), which you can revoke at any time by closing your EA-ID. Please note that once you have closed your EA-ID, you will no longer be able to access the content protected by it.</p>
<h2>Storage period</h2>
<p>We store your data until you close your EA-ID. If the data of your EA-ID is used for the use of Protected Services such as our certification services, we store the data as long as the regulations of these services require it.</p>
<h2>Data access and transfer to third countries</h2>
<p>As our service provider for Azure B2C Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18 D18 P521, Ireland has access to EA-ID data. As such, the service provider is bound by a data processing agreement to protect the data (Art. 28 EU-GDPR).</p>
<p>To the extent that the EU branch of Microsoft transfers personal data outside the European Union, Switzerland or the European Economic Area, this transfer is secured by contractual agreements, in particular the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. This is the case for the USA.</p>
<h2>Use for communication purposes</h2>
<p>In the course of registering for EA-ID or at a later point in time in the Preference Center or when registering via EA-ID for one of our services, you have the option of registering to receive our newsletter. If you register for the newsletter, the data required for sending and managing the newsletter will be transferred to our newsletter service provider Brevo (previously Sendinblue). This primarily includes your email address and, where relevant, your preferences for receiving newsletters of certain thematic categories. Privacy Policy for the EA-ID (Azure B2C)

<h1><strong>Newsletter Service</strong></h1>
<p>European Athletics uses Brevo (previously Sendinblue) for the sending of newsletters. The provider of Brevo is the Sendinblue GmbH, K&ouml;penicker Stra&szlig;e 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany.</p>
<p>Brevo services can, among other things, be used to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters. The data you enter for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter are archived on Brevos servers in Germany.</p>
<h2><strong>What data is collected?</strong></h2>
<p>We collect the data necessary for sending the newsletter, i.e. in particular your e-mail address. In addition, we ask you to provide further information and tell us your name, country of origin and approximate age. These details are optional. Finally, we collect data that is generated when you interact with the emails you receive.&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong>For what purpose do we use the data?</strong></h2>
<p>We use the data primarily to provide you with the requested newsletter service. In addition, we use the data to monitor the reach, relevance and success of our newsletter.&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong>Monitoring and data analysis with Brevo</strong></h2>
<p>Brevo enables us to analyze our newsletter campaigns. For instance, it allows us to see whether a newsletter message has been opened and, if so, which links may have been clicked. This enables us to determine, which links drew an extraordinary number of clicks.</p>
<p>Moreover, we are also able to see whether once the e-mail was opened or a link was clicked, any previously defined actions were taken (conversion rate). This allows us, for example, to better assess the extent to which you have interacted with our services.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Brevo also enables us to divide the subscribers to our newsletter into various categories (i.e., to &ldquo;cluster&rdquo; recipients). For instance, newsletter recipients can be categorized based on age, gender, or place of residence. This enables us to tailor our newsletter more effectively to the needs of the respective target groups.</p>
<p>If you do not want to permit an analysis by Brevo, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for you to do this in every newsletter message.&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong>What is the legal basis for the processing?</strong></h2>
<p>The data is processed based on your consent (Art. 6, para. 1 lit. a EU-GDPR). You may revoke any consent you have given at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. This shall be without prejudice to the lawfulness of any data processing transactions that have taken place prior to your revocation.</p>
<h2>How long will the data be stored?</h2>
<p>The data deposited with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter or the newsletter service provider and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. <p>It is common, for example, for clubs or national sports federations to register their athletes in batches in our system. When these organisations do this, they act as a third party. If you are registering other persons with us in the capacity of such a third party, we draw your attention to the fact that you must have the verifiable and legally valid consent of all these other persons you are registering at the time of registration. By registering a third person's details, you confirm that you have such consent and hold us harmless from any such claims by that person. Should you not have such consent or be unable to provide it upon request, we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action, in particular to assert claims for damages.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As a principle, only the staff and personnel of EA have access to your personal data who process your data in compliance with applicable data protection laws. We do our best to keep your data confidential at all times, e.g., by confidentiality agreements entered into with the persons who have access to your data and by training them regarding data protection.</p>
<p>We may also share your data with service providers or other organisations such as host providers and other event organisers, sponsors and other partners of an event, partner sports organisations involved in the event such as the Member Federations of EA, travel agencies, accommodation providers, security service providers, IT/software providers, advisors, lawyers, insurances, newsletter provider and social media platforms who work on behalf of or together with European Athletics under confidentiality agreements and/or so-called data processing agreements.</p>
<p>We may furthermore share your data if we are legally obliged to respond to subpoenas, court orders, claims, legal processes or other legal obligations.</p>
<p>We may share your data also if we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, emergency situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of European Athletics &lsquo;s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.</p>
<p>We may also share your data with other third parties if you have given your consent to do so, if we are required to do so by legal, regulatory or business obligations, if it is necessary for an association dissolution or a merger with another association or another similar event, or if it is necessary in connection with legal proceedings or to assert or defend claims.</p>
<p>We may also transfer your data to third parties if this is required in the context of analyzing your use of our website and/or to offer customized services to you, as described further above (section 2.2 and 2.5).</p>
